Just because GDC 2020 isn’t going down in person, that doesn’t mean you won’t still be able to hear some neat talks from wonderful developers.
An array of game development design/business talks will be given on GDC’s Twitch channel from 9am to 5pm PT today until Friday. A detailed schedule is available on their site, but some highlights include Gabby DaRienzo talking about overcoming creative block with Super Crush KO, Adam Robinson-Yu talking about creating little open worlds with A Short Hike, and the challenges that Arvi Teikari faced in creating the intertwining word rule system of Baba is You. This is among dozens of design, development, and business advice from folks in all corners of the industry. Talks are possibly being added as well, so keep checking the schedule to see if there’s been any fun new surprises.
The Independent Games Festival and Game Developers Choice Awards will also be held on Wednesday from 5-7pm PT, and there are a lot of lovely games up for awards there, too.
If you missed any of the talks (and you may have, if this is the first you’re hearing about them), they’ll be going up for free on the GDC Vault. They’ll also be going on GDC’s YouTube channel as well, but these will only go up some time over the next few weeks/months. So, maybe skedaddle on over to that Twitch channel to see what’s all happening.
